Nearly a decade in the making, Frank Gehry’s Foundation Louis Vuitton has finally opened its doors. The new art museum and cultural centre is a multi-faceted Crystal Palace for a new age, drawing comparisons to the Sydney Opera House, sailing ships and a colossal iceberg floating in the green sea of Paris’ Bois de Boulogne Park.
Last week saw the launch of Al Brown’s fourth book, Depot: The Biography of a Restaurant. An in-depth look at how Depot Eatery and Oyster Bar came to be, the new book also explores the restaurant's vision, philosophy, food, service and especially, the incredible staff who run this successful high-octane restaurant. Georgi Waddy had the opportunity to talk to Al on the day of the launch and discover some of his business secrets.
